DESCRIPTION OF CORNELL’S EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
PROGRAM SYNOPSIS
The Cornell's Executive Development program is a four-weeks program for
senior executives from Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. Each
year the program usually starts around mid July and ends in
mid August. For the first three weeks the students will
stay, and be taught by professors from the school of
management at Cornell University, in a very nice conference
center about 60 to 90 minutes by car north of New York
City. For the fourth week the students will stay and attend
lectures on the main campus of Cornell University in
Ithaca. At the end of the fourth week, the students will
return to New York area for departure to Asia or other
places.
STUDENT
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT
- Having
graduated from a university accredited by the department
of education in Taiwan, China or Hong Kong.
- Having
at least three years of management experience.

Achieving a TOEFL test score of no less than 450. (The
test does not have to be TOEFL. It can be another test
similar to TOEFL.)
APPLICATION
The application package must include the following:

Resume
-
Two or
three pages describing the student’s background,
interest, accomplishments, and what the student wishes
to do or accomplish in the future.

University transcripts (in
English)
-
Letter from the director of
personnel (or human resources) of the organization where the
student has worked or is working, stating the job title and
period in which the student was or has been a manager.

Two recommendation letters from
current or previous superiors, or one recommendation letter
from a superior and one recommendation letter from a
professor.

TOEFL test report showing a
score no less than 450. (The test does not have to be
TOEFL. It can be another test similar to TOEFL.)

Application fee, $US100.

Bank statement showing an
account balance of no less than $20,000.
FEE The total for four weeks (tuition + room + meals +
transportation between the conference center and Cornell’s
main campus) is US$10,000. Of this amount, $5,000 is
payable upon acceptance into the program, and the balance of
$5,000 is payable before departing from Taiwan, China or
Hong Kong.
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY Since all the lectures in the program are delivered in
English, the students must have certain level of English
proficiency in order to benefit from the program.
Therefore, the students are asked to show a TOEFL score no
less than 450.
WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND PAPERS No written examination or paper is required during the four
weeks.
CERTIFICATE The students must attend all the lectures and discussion
sessions (unless for emergency situations) during the four
weeks in order to graduate. Upon graduation the students
will be awarded a certificate from the Cornell school of
management stating that the students have successfully
completed four weeks of Executive Development Program.
